Carter's life:

Carter Kaufmann, owner and CEO of Professional Products, Inc., passed away on September 25, 2007 while vacationing in Madrid, Spain at the age of 70.

For those that knew Carter, this has been a tremendous loss.  Carter has been in this industry for over 40 years.  People who know Professional Products associate that name with Carter Kaufmann. 

Carter was in his mid-20’s when he joined Professional Products selling equipment.  At that time, Professional Products was a small subsidiary that consisted of Carter and two other men working out of an audio retail business named Audio Center.  After earning the revenue quota that he was given, he became a partner in Professional Products.  The business continued to grow and prosper and in 1965, Professional Products was officially incorporated and Carter became a 33% owner.

A few years after PPI was incorporated, one of the partners left the Company and in 1998, Carter bought out his other partner and became the sole owner and CEO of Professional Products, Inc.

Carter grew PPI by the relationships that he built, not only with customers and manufacturers, but also with his employees.  He sincerely and genuinely cared about people and he made all of us feel like a family by his countless generosity and concern for who each of us was as a person, not just an employee, vendor or customer.

Carter was more than just our owner.  He was a wonderful person, a friend, a mentor, a leader.  To some, he was like a father and to all, he was a truly generous, caring and wonderful man that touched all of our hearts in some way.  Words can not express how much we will miss him.
